Established in 1993, Crab Shack was a seasonal, open-aired restaurant. In the spring of 1997, the Crab Shack was renovated into a larger indoor and outdoor restaurant. The small rustic shack, which consisted of six picnic tables, was transformed into an indoor restaurant which now seats over two hundred patrons and enables us to operate all year long.

The Crab Shack is located at the foot of the James River. The restaurant provides casual dining with the freshest and finest seafood available. All our food is fresh and cooked to order. Our food contains no MSG or preservatives and we fry in vegetable oil with zero trans-fat. When the season arrives, we even shed crabs daily in our own tanks. Our windowed indoor dining room and outdoor dining deck provide a panoramic view of the James River. As the sun sets on the river and the sky turns every hue imaginable, the Crab Shack will provide you with a unique waterfront dining experience time and time again.
